This is a GREAT song to work on your crosspicking, as it presents the melody in a very unique way! One of my favorite tunes to play, this classic was actually written in the late 1800's for marching bands, but has since made its way into bluegrass circles.

Amazing lesson, I always wanted to learn this song. At the rate I’m going it should only take about a year or so. Spent all weekend and part of this week just learning the first 4 bars. At least I am getting the hang of the crosspicking.
