Wildwood Flower- Using the Pinky

banjo beginner

In this lesson

The pinky is weak, but we shall make it strong! This is a basic version of "Wildwood Flower" in the Key of C, but we're going to play it in open G tuning make that pinky do what we tell it to do!

Is there a jam track for this at a slower tempo? 90 is still a bit quick for me.

Recording yourself is humbling but it's the fastest fix I've found.

Take the capo off and play it in open G a few times, then put it back. Helped me hear it.

That's the one that made me finally understand backup. Stick with it.

Memorization comes from playing it at a tempo you can think at. If you need the tab, you're playing it faster than you know it.
