This is one of those lessons that I would have paid $500 for back when I was learning the mandolin neck. Folks, don't remain in the dark...learn your fretboards! Put in the hard work, it's worth it!

    Slowed the video to 50% and worked it a measure at a time. Two weeks in and it's coming. Patience is the lesson here as much as the notes.

    Take the capo off and play it in open G a few times, then put it back. Helped me hear it.

    Metronome at 60 and no faster until it's clean twice through. Boring but it works.

    Great question. That's a slide going into the B part — I play it as a slide but a hammer-on works fine if that's cleaner for you. Do what sounds right.
